The Room is large. Blank walls, no windows, a single white-painted fire door. The walls are coated with countless layers of white latex paint. Factory space. They know this kind of room, this kind of building; the tenants operate in the interzone where art isn’t quite crime, crime not quite art.

“Tell her that her house has to be the same as ours so we can have a neat street,” the people shouted.

“My house is me and I am it. My house is where I like to be and it looks like all my dreams,” she said.

Why’s that? I don’t know, Bc of life.

...but the fire? “Well, there’s always a little room for questioning authorities.”
